Ο αστυνομικός απολύθηκε ενώ ο αρχηγός της αστυνομίας στο Τούσον στην Αριζόνα καταδίκασε την πράξη του λέγοντας ότι «Η χρήση φονικής βίας… είναι ξεκάθαρη παράβαση των κανονισμών της υπηρεσίας μας».
